Old Town of Murten

Walk through the city
Pass through the famous Berne Gate and wander through the many narrow streets and under the arcades of the old town, with its charming baroque houses lined up like pearls on a necklace. From the many viewpoints and terraces, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Murten, the wine region at the foot of Mont Vully, and even the Jura with its gently rolling hills on the horizon. The pretty silhouette of the old town is most impressive from the lakeside promenade.
